Hair of the Dogwood

River Ridge Winery is situated in a century old farm house and nestled in the hills above the Mississippi River. The hand-tended French Hybrid and Vinifera grapes grown on the hills behind the winery produce wines of the highest quality.

Rob and Denise Bullock purchased the winery from Jerry and Joannie Smith on May 1, 2016. Jerry bought the 80-acre farm and began planting grapes in 1980. The doors opened September 17, 1994. For over two decades River Ridge Winery has been a delightful destination for its customers and friends wanting to enjoy great wine, great food, and an enchanting atmosphere perfect for a relaxing afternoon.

As the winery grew expansions and updates were completed including the addition of a new wine production building, the addition of the Fermentation Room Cafe, the completion of the Nunnelly Pavilion, the addition of the two-tiered patio with fire pit, planting the Vinifera vineyard and more recently, the installation of wine hut, second pavilion and beautiful terraced brick patios overlooking the main patio.

Nestled in the heart of a thriving farming community, Dahlbeck Distillery stands as a testament to generations of dedicated farmers and tradespeople whose passion for their craft and respect for their heritage have created something special and unique.

Ours is a tapestry woven with a wide variety of fabrics: past generations of immigrants, farmers, frontiersmen, entrepreneurs — all coming together in this distillery together through a shared love of family and a celebration of our beloved Southeast Missouri region and Dahlbeck Distillery’s hometown.

Our story features Swedish immigrants who built a new life through an Omaha grocery store, creators of businesses and products, and a family who has proudly own the same Southeast Missouri farmland for more than a century (and where we will soon distill harvested grains and goods raised on that and area lands).

Come experience our adventure as we work to provide you with great flavors grown out of love of family, our love of this area, and a love of creating something new and lasting.
