Charleston Historical Society

Built in 1899, the Moore Home, now under the care of the Historical Society, is a charming three-story Victorian house adorned with period-authentic furnishings. In 1977, the heirs of Joe and Carrie Moore graciously donated this exquisite country home to the Society.

Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the home features 17 rooms, including seven fireplaces, and is beautifully appointed with original pieces, such as the dining room furniture and a stunning gas chandelier. This remarkable residence offers a glimpse into the elegance of a bygone era.
